Check Encryption (or Cipher Strength)

It is recommended that you use the most current version of Microsoft® Internet Explorer with a cipher strength of 128-bit (also known as encryption).

The most current version is MsIE 6.0 (do not use the beta version).

To check MsIE's cipher strength (or encryption):

1. Open Internet Explorer.

2. Click on the Help menu, and then click on About Internet Explorer (as shown in the following image):

3. The About Internet Explorer window will appear. Make sure cipher strength is 128-bit (as shown circled in red in the following image):

4. Click OK.

5. If the cipher strength is not 128-bit, update your MsIE browser to the most recent version http://www.microsoft.com/downloads. (currently MsIE 6.0 - do not use the beta version).
